About Me

Hello there,

My name is Aimee, welcome!

I have found yoga so beneficial over the last 6 years since I committed to a regular practice. During times of transition, anxiety, and stress I have found huge relief & healing through the practice. I now incorporate it into my lifestyle as part of my self-care, as it keeps me well; physically, mentally & emotionally. My passion is to bring this practice and all of its benefits to you, (no matter how inflexible you might think you are!).

I trained as a yoga teacher in 2017 with Jyoti Yoga Soul, who at the time had a beautiful yoga shala in my then neighbourhood in Phibsborough, Dublin. I completed my 200hour teacher training over many weekends in that shala, and finished it over a 2 week period in the North of India; a beautiful place called Rishikesh.

Since then, I have been teaching yoga alongside my day job as an occupational therapist.

I trained in Hatha style yoga, which focuses on holding asanas (postures) while bringing your attention to pranyama (breathing), fostering your mind-body connection.

With a keen interest in all things brain, I became intrigued by the effects of yoga and meditation on healing the body, specifically the brain. As an occupational therapist practicing in the area of neurodisability and neurorehabilitation, I found myself completing the LoveYourBrain training in October 2020. This is a programme which makes yoga and meditation accessible to those with brain injury - something I am also very passionate about. Let me know if this something I can tell you more about.

The other area I've become recently interested in since becoming a mother in 2020, is in the topic of Matrescence - the physical, emotional, hormonal and social transition to becoming a mother. This term changed the way I approach the ongoing transitions that come with being a mother, and led me to create a workshop for new mothers where they can ‘refill their cup’ through the medium of yoga and meditation. Keep an eye out for these workshops on the website.

Please do get in touch with any queries you may have,

Thank you so much for visiting,

Namaste
